Check in/ Keys

Check in is at 4pm. The address of the loft is 408-2001 Wall St. When possible I  will meet you to give you the keys. When you are enroute please text or call and let me know  roughly when you will arrive. If I can't meet up with you the keys will be in a lockbox at the top of the stairs at 2042 Franklin Street, about 5 blocks away. The combination is in the first message I sent on Airbnb.

To enter the building and use the elevator touch the grey fob on the keychain to the black box on the enterphone and in the elevator

Please note: The loft and entire building are smoke free. If any hint of smoking or vaping anything is detected by the cleaning staff, $250 will be deducted from the the damage deposit for special cleaning.

When you are in the building, take the elevator to the forth floor, turn right as you exit the elevator and go through the blue doors, on your left you will find suite 408.

Parking- there is free street parking all along Wall Street, just don't park in front of the fire hydrant across the street.

For check out, please leave the keys on the kitchen counter.

Check Out

Check out time is 11 AM. Please run any dishes through the dishwasher and leave pots and pans clean.
Please leave the keys on the kitchen counter  when leaving. No need to lock the door.
The cleaners arrive between 11 and 1 on checkout days. If they are unable to clean because guests haven't left they bill me $50 per hour or portion of, which they must wait . This amount is taken from the guests security deposit

The loft is heated via the fireplace. The switch for the fireplace is next to it.

Stuff/Public Transit

Garbage and Recycling are located behind the last blue door of the building near McDonalds.

Closest grocery store is Donalds on the corner of Hastings and Nanaimo.
Favourite drug store is London Drugs on Hastings and Penticton. Closest drug store is Pharmasave in the 2200 block on Hastings.

Closest medical clinic is next to the Pharmasave in the 2200 block of east Hastings.

Water- our tap water is mountain fresh and  amazing, no need to buy bottled water.

This is a great area for food, no filler here, this is a very incomplete list

Coffee- JJ Bean on the south side of Powell, one block west.
             Far Out coffee Post 2173 Dundas St. -Coffee and Pinball

Breakfast :
                  Red Wagon on Hastings, there will be a line up on weekends after 9:30.
                 Yolks, corner of Hastings and Woodland, also a lineup on weekends.
                  Roundel Cafe also on Hastings, sometimes a line up.
                  Princeton Hotel, just west on Powell, no lineup ever, basic greasy spoon.

Dinner: 
                 Commercial Drive- filled with great places, favorite is Havanna's, second is The Charleton.

Mexican: Tacofino on Hastings is the spot to be.

Chinese- lots of places on Hastings, if you want style, atmosphere and great food hit up Bao Bei in Chinatown on Keefer street.

Italian, Pepinos Spaghetti house on Commercial Dr.

Palestinian- Tamam on Hastings- great food!

Burgers- Veras Burgers on Commercial.

Barbecue- Memphis Blues on Commercial.

Sushi- Too many to choose from, cheap and quick, Nanaimo Sushi on Nanaimo. Really good sushi, Koko  on Hastings.


Best place to listen to old school metal and have great food and drink- The Jackelope 2257 Hastings.

Ideosyncracy

The second switch on the bathroom light switch turns on the power to the yellow outlet upstairs that the air conditioner is plugged into. Weird- don't ask me why?

Craft Breweries.

At last count their are 13 craft breweries in the neighborhood. The closest and one of the better ones is Parallel 49, two blocks south. If you would like a growler, their is one in the cupboard above the stove. If you use it please wash it and return it there when done.

If you want to go to the Dr. Frankensteins labratory of craft breweries, Storm at Commercial Drive and Franklin Street is truly something to be seen, and tasted. The beer is great!

Pinball/Final Lap

The on button for the pinball machine is on the  front right of the machine on the bottom, you have to feel around for the indent.
Please don't put drinks on the machine, if they spill they will wreck it.
Please don't play after 11pm, it is rather noisy.

Finaal Lap

Open the top red door. The left button is to add credits and the right switch is on/off.

Netflix/TV

Security

Cannery Row is a very well run building in which the tenants take great pride in. Security is of utmost concern to the residents so please do not let anyone in the building who is not with you. No resident would expect to be let in from someone they did not know.

Also, sadly Vancouver is notorious for theft from vehicles so please do not leave any valuable visible in your vehicle.
